Hello agents!
First of all, thanks to everyone for the patience over the last week as we ran through a bunch of hurdles and hiccups with our pledge manager. I think everything is working now.
GAMA Bound! Out Of Office!
Before we get into it - I want to let everyone know that I'm going to GAMA tomorrow for the next 5 days! This should prove to be a great opportunity to ensure retailers all over know about MIND MGMT and introduce them to Harrow County (our next game coming this summer!). So I won't be responding to many emails while I'm away - which includes a lot of emails and messages that have already been sent. No worries - I haven't forgot about you and will get back to you the following week!
Retailers
Hello retailers - I really hope to see you at GAMA next week (booth 617 - shared with Burnt Island Games).
I do want you all to know that you DON'T have to do the pledge manager. I'll be regrouping with you in a month or so with invoices. I emailed you directly with a survey to fill out (Google form) - so please check for that if you haven't filled that out yet.
When are you being charged?
April 30, 2022! That's when I plan to close the pledge manager and lock in your orders. I'll send more updates and reminders before then - but you have time!
Pledge Manager Issues fixed
1) There was an issue with the Playing Card addons. We fixed it, and then it caused another issue! Dang! So then we fixed that - but it meant a bunch of people who already filled it out were asked to come back and do it again. So sorry for the hassle of that. It's all working now - and everyone should be able to get the correct discount for the number of decks they got!! Key thing is - if you did select the playing cards AS AN ADDON in Kickstarter - then when the Addon section comes up - you have a drop down menu to select how many you want for each deck you added on. Use the drop down menu to select how many you want and you'll get the discount.
2) There was an issue with the shipping charges showing. For some reason - the preview screen sometimes differs from the final check out screen. Still not sure why - but if you're seeing an odd shipping charge - continue until you get to the check out screen and it may change.
3) There was an issue with backers not being able to change their pledge level. I didn't even know you could or couldn't do this...and apparently it's locked by default. I've unlocked it so you can switch to a different level if you want.
4) There was an issue with local pick up. This was tricky. So under country - that's where you select Local Pick up - don't choose CANADA. And then put N/A for all the address fields. Now local pick up does not mean free shipping as I still have to pay to ship all of these units from the US up to Canada - but it's pretty minor - like $5 unless you got a lot of stuff.
5) If you haven't received your email invite yet - it's possible you were using a mail forwarder (in which case a Kickstarter message was sent to you with instructions), or there was a bounce back on your email. I have a list - but won't be able to get to it until I return from GAMA.
6) $1 backers were losing $1!!! This was fixed. You got your $1 back! Not sure what happened, but BackerKit fixed it!
App update
I know every update I say that the app is super close - and it is! I've had some people that were part of the MIND MGMT Facebook group volunteer to test it out (head on over to participate in future rounds when I announce it: MIND MGMT Facebook Group). The full game is now in the app and is working perfectly! Our developer is now working on the digital Shift packages. To clarify here - we're not turning all the physical Shift packages into digital Shift packages. We're hand selecting them AND we're creating brand new ones as well. It'll be its own unique thing. Oh - and as a sneak surprise - there's going to be more than 2 digital Shift packages in the app (2 was what we unlocked during the first Kickstarter and all that was ever promised).

BackerKit double order fixed!

A quick update to those that received an email invite to the BackerKit (only a handful of backers so far have received it - the rest will receive it very soon!).
There was an issue where orders for Playing Cards were coming in doubled up with no issue to alter that! I've been told it's been addressed. Thank you to everyone who brought this to my attention!! And this is why we test things before rolling it out.

Pledge Manager Invites coming this week!

Things are starting to move and we're about to send out invites to the pledge manager (BackerKit)! We'll send out a few to test it all, make sure it's working, then we'll send out the rest. If you don't get an email by next week, then you can contact me. And no worries - there's no rush anymore. Pledge Manager won't be closing until the end of April!
Pledge Manager 101
If you're new to Kickstarter and pledge managers, here's how it works:
1) You back the game on Kickstarter <done>
2) The campaign ends and Kickstarter charges your credit card. There's a 2 week window to take care of any bounces or errors. Then they release the funds to me. <done>
3) The pledge manager opens(we are here!). You get an email from BackerKit (the name of the pledge manager we're using). In it there's a link that takes you to BackerKit.
5) Using the same email you used from Kickstarter, login (or you can create an account). You will see credits equal to the amount of money you pledged for during our Kickstarter campaign. With these credits you select any item you want - including the option to buy more things!
6) Enter your shipping address and pay for anything extra you picked up - including shipping (as this wasn't charged during the Kickstarter campaign).
7) Your payments will be withdrawn from you on April 30. That's when the pledge manager will close.
That's it! Well, then you wait. But hopefully not too long!
Late Pledges?
Anyone else can also hop onto the pledge manager to pick up any of these items as well. I'm not increasing the price for late backers, so they can enjoy all the same benefits. If you backed for $1, same applies to you - you can pick up whatever you want in the pledge manager. So feel free to tell others!
I had put August 2022 in the expected delivery on every pledge on Kickstarter. I had thought that since we have our print run planned to start right now (yay!) that we might get it even earlier - but considering how big the order has grown to, I've been informed that August is looking more likely for delivery. Sorry for dangling the carrot of a possible May or June delivery in one of the updates! Still, From Feb to Aug is a really short turn-around time from Kickstarter to your hands!!
Refunds?
I've had a few requests for refunds and yes, we can do them, but we will have to reduce by 10% as that's already been charged by Kickstarter. Reach out to me if you would like to proceed.
GAMA Expo
I'll be going to GAMA next week and if you're going to be there - stop by the Burnt Island Games booth as I'll be sharing it with them! I'll also have Harrow County available to demo!!

Wow. $782,131 CAD. I am speechless. Wait - no I'm not...I have a lot of words. Especially, thank you! Thanks so much for helping me reach my goal of turning this hobby into a jobby and soon into a career. I want to keep designing games and keep publishing cool games like this. How did we do?
Amazingly well. More specifically, here are some stats:
$782,131 CAD raised ($613,912 USD)
9613 Backers
6350 more Deluxe editions of MIND MGMT sold (+163 x 8 more from retailers)
2110 current owners of MIND MGMT picking up the Secret Packages and Wood Upgrade Kits
1678 MIND MGMT Playing Card decks sold
What's next?
You're going to be charged - or you've already been charged - for what you pledged on this campaign from Kickstarter. Check to make sure there are no errors or bouncebacks on that. It takes Kickstarter about 2 weeks to finalize everyone's credit cards. Once that's complete I'll invite you to BackerKit, our Pledge Manager. The Late Pledge will be open almost immediately for others who weren't part of this campaign - so ignore that until you get invited via email to come to BackerKit!
In the Pledge Manager, you'll be given a credit for all the money you've pledged on Kickstarter. Then you can add more money and select which other add-ons you want, then enter your mailing address to pay for shipping.
I had said in other updates and in some replies to messages that you're going to have to act fast in the Pledge Manager - but that isn't the case any more. I have to finalize my numbers for what I want to print by end of next week - but we can't open the Pledge Manager until everything is sorted with Kickstarter. So not enough time. So now I will just over estimate how many units we need of everything!
I want the Retail Version!
Awesome! I want to support all our amazing and friendly local game stores! We are printing the retail edition at the same time as this run of deluxe (March 1 we start!). So they should be in retail around the same time (though we'll ensure backers get their games first!). If everything goes smoothly, we're hoping for a May delivery date.

We've been working on our next game for over 5 years now and are bringing it to a crowdfunding platform this summer. It's called Harrow County: A Game of Gothic Conflict. It's also based on a creator owned comic and it will also feature new art from that comic's artist, Tyler Crook. And it's amazing. I will show off one piece of art for you all to see:
The game is a 1 vs. 1 game at its core with 3 different factions that each play differently, and then multiple lead characters to choose from within each faction. We've added a 3rd player that plays totally differently and I can't wait to show you more about this.

A couple of days ago we announced that everyone is getting 10 cards (instead of 9) in the Secret Mission - and now we have one final upgrade gift we'd like to share.

Every deck of MIND MGMT Playing cards will come with silver foil edges! This will help the cards stand out even more as high end professional cards! We didn't want to do stretch goals with this campaign due to the speed it all had to come together, but we still wanted to provide some nice benefits!! As a reminder - these cards (almost) have nothing to do with the board game...with the exception that one of the Jokers can be used in the MIND MGMT board game! It allows the Recruiter to move through 1 Mayhem once per game. Yikes!!
